Beneficiary Profile
The beneficiaries were students of Grades 1–3, most of whom come from economically disadvantaged Tamang families. The school's Principal, who herself comes from a marginalized community, has dedicated her efforts to improving educational opportunities for local children. Despite limited resources, she continues to encourage families to send their children to school and pursue education as a pathway to a better future.
Impact/Outcome
The distribution of school bags addressed a genuine need within the school, where both the institution and many families struggle to afford essential educational materials. During the program, the Principal expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of Bhaktapur and donor Rtn. Khadanand Shiwakoti. She shared that the support was not only thoughtful and timely but also a strong source of motivation for her mission to uplift children from her community through education.
She noted that acts of kindness such as this reassure community leaders that they are not alone in their efforts and that when people work for a good cause, there are individuals and organizations willing to support them in reaching their goals. The initiative brought joy to the students, reduced the burden on families, and strengthened the school's ongoing efforts to increase attendance and educational participation among children in the community.
